The OASIS kinetic pergola, developed by Denvelops in collaboration with Eurecat and winner of the 2026 Delta Gold Award, has been reinstalled at a new location in Barcelona. The innovative pergola can now be seen on Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, near the junction with Carrer de Gelabert.
This reinstallation demonstrates that the OASIS pergola can be dismantled, transported and quickly reassembled while maintaining the system’s integrity, performance and warranties.

A Kinetic Pergola for Shading Public Spaces
The OASIS pergola is an urban shading system based on Denvelops’ patented Hybrid TexTILES® technology. Its kinetic elements move passively with the wind, creating ever-changing patterns of light and shade without motors or complex mechanical systems.
This movement allows the pergola to adapt naturally to wind conditions. As a result, loads on the structure are reduced, avoiding the need to oversize structural elements and anchoring systems.
The result is a lightweight, dynamic and efficient pergola designed to improve thermal comfort and provide shade in squares, streets and other urban spaces.
The OASIS Pergola Can Be Seen Again in Barcelona
Following its first installation in Plaça Comercial, opposite the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria, the pergola was dismantled and transported to its new location.
The OASIS pergola can now be seen on Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, near Carrer de Gelabert. Its new location enables the shading system to be recovered and reused in an urban area requiring greater protection from the sun.
This reinstallation brings a pergola recently recognised with the highest distinction at the Delta Industrial Design Awards back into Barcelona’s public space.
A Demountable, Relocatable and Reusable Pergola
One of the main objectives of the OASIS project was to develop an industrialised pergola that could be dismantled, transported and reused at different locations.
Repeated assembly and disassembly cycles can be particularly demanding on materials and construction systems. In some cases, they may cause deterioration, deformation or a loss of performance that can affect durability and warranties.
The reinstallation of the OASIS pergola has been successfully completed. The process has demonstrated that the system can be quickly and efficiently reassembled while preserving its operation, stability and integrity.

The Pergola Reinstallation Completes the Pilot Project Cycle
The new installation completes the cycle that began two years ago with the OASIS – Shade for Everyone pilot project, promoted by BIT Habitat and Barcelona City Council.
The pilot project was not limited to testing the pergola’s performance at a single location. It was also intended to demonstrate its ability to be dismantled, transported and reassembled without compromising its performance.
The successful reinstallation confirms the viability of a pergola conceived from the outset as a modular and recoverable system, ready for use at different sites.
A Pergola Designed for Circular Construction
The OASIS pergola was not conceived as a temporary, single-use installation. Its structure and components are designed to be recovered and reused in successive installations.
Its self-supporting and relocatable structure, together with the lightweight and modular nature of the Hybrid TexTILES®, helps reduce waste, reuse existing materials and extend the system’s service life.
This ability to reuse the pergola makes it a solution aligned with the principles of circular construction:
- Dry assembly and disassembly.
- Recovery of the structure and its components.
- Relocation to different sites.
- Waste reduction.
- Extended system service life.
- Adaptation to different urban shading requirements.
A Pergola Awarded the 2026 Delta Gold Award
The reinstallation follows the OASIS pergola’s recognition with the 2026 Delta Gold Award in the Outdoor Equipment category, the highest distinction granted by the ADI-FAD Delta Awards.
The jury highlighted the project’s ability to transform the inspiration of traditional festive banners into an elegant urban solution integrating identity, movement and engineering.
It also recognised the pergola’s dynamic response to wind and its ability to create an adaptable and visually rich shading experience.
A Pergola Ready for New Projects
The dismantling, transportation and reassembly of the OASIS pergola have provided Denvelops and Eurecat with particularly valuable technical experience.
Validating the complete process makes it possible to approach future kinetic pergola projects with greater confidence and to further optimise manufacturing, logistics, transportation, assembly and reuse.
What began as an urban shading pilot project has now become an industrialised, reusable kinetic pergola system ready for new applications in public spaces, landscape projects, hospitality, terraces and contemporary architecture.
The award-winning pergola can now be experienced again in Barcelona, on Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas near Carrer de Gelabert, demonstrating that a temporary solution can also be durable, relocatable and capable of maintaining its performance after reinstallation.
